Mukesh Thakur has been elected as the new president of the Hoteliers Association in Manali, Kullu district. He secured a victory over his rival, former president Anup Thakur, by a margin of 54 votes. The elections also saw the election of other office-bearers, including Roshan Thakur as vice-president, Nihal Chand Thakur as general secretary, Maan Chand Thakur as joint secretary, Manu Sharma as press secretary, and Gaurav Thakur as treasurer.
Out of a total of 692 eligible voters, 643 cast their votes in the election, which was conducted under the supervision of the Manali Tehsildar. The results were declared late in the evening, bringing an end to a closely contested election that saw a high level of voter participation.
With the election of a new leadership team, the Hoteliers Association in Manali is set to embark on a new chapter in its efforts to promote tourism and support local businesses. Mukesh Thakur and his team will have their work cut out for them as they seek to address the challenges facing the hospitality sector in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are committed to working tirelessly to ensure that Manali remains a top destination for travelers from around the world.
